How to get there!

Take the North Coast Highway. At Caboolture take the Bribie Island off-ramp. At the end of the Bribie Bridge turn left, as the race site is about 800 metres on your left.

Parking

Parking is limited on race day. One car park area will be set aside near the Transition area for the event. Parking is also available in the various side streets. There will also be one car park reserved for cars and trailers from the boating group. You will not be permitted to park there if you are attending the triathlon. This will be monitored. Please note that parking is NOT AVAILABLE at the Bribie Island Hotel Motel nor is it available in Bibimulya St, Danbar Ave or Sylvan Beach Esplanade. If you park in these areas your car may be towed at your expense. Please follow the Parking Marshals directions!

Toilets

Permanent toilets are located for use by participants and general public adjacent to the transition area. Additional port a loos will also be available for use nearby. Toilets are also located near the swim start - 200m towards the bridge. Toilets are also located near the swim start – 750 metres from transition and on the run leg.

Triathlon Race Start Times

Transition area opens at 5.30am and will close at 6.45am as the first wave starts.
Short course 300/10/3 - first wave starts 6.30am SHARP
Long course 750/30/5 & 1000/30/8 - first wave starts at 7.15am SHARP

Registration

Before entering the Registration Area please rack your bike in the rack near the registration area and line up in the queue according to your race (long course, short course or team).
At the registration table you will be asked for your Surname first and then confirmed with your Christian name or your Team Name. The attendant will supply you with an envelope which contains a sticker with your race number to attach to your bike. This sticker will allow you to take your bike into the transition area and more importantly to take your bike out of transition after the Triathlon has finished. NO STICKER, NO BIKE! A paper race number which will be attach to your body during the bike & run leg.
Also in the envelope is your timing band which is to be placed on your left ankle with the long piece facing down. If you do not complete the triathlon please take your band to the timing tent which is at the finish line. When you finish please take your timing band off your leg and give to the attendant at the end of the chute. Ensure that your timing band is returned. If your timing band is not returned you will be charged a $50.00 fee.

Race Numbering

After collecting your bike sticker please proceed to the scribe to have your body number put on. Please tell the scribe whether you will wear bike pants or a t/shirt so they can number you appropriately. Please note: no body numbers = no admittance into the transition area. Your race numbers will be placed on the front side of right arms and the front of one leg. The category letter will be placed on the calf muscle. It is your responsibility to ensure the numbers written on your body are the same as your timing band, race number and your bike sticker.

Course Description

Swim

All swim legs will be in the Pumicestone Passage in a straight line back to the transition area. All swims are with the current.

Cycle Leg

Will be run as laps through the streets of the local residential area. MAP

Course as follows Sylvan Beach Esp. at Pacific Harbour entrance at round-a-bout, right into Marina Bvd left into Seaside drive u/turn left into Marina Bvd, left into Marina Village Rd u/turn left into Marina Bvd left into North Pnt u/turn and left into Marina Bvd left into The Peninsula, u/turn left Marina Bvd right across traffic island into Verdoni St, stay on wrong side of road, right into Boronia Drive left into Sylvan Beach Esp. u/turn at Marbrin Pl, right into transition. Bike course: one lap for short course - 300/10/3. Two laps for 750/20/5, three laps 1/30/8.

Run Leg

Left out transition out of bottom of transition on to bike path towards Caloundra out/back for 1.5km, 300/10/3. Out/back twice 1.25km for 750/20/5, and out/back three times for 1/30/8 and return to transition and the finish.

Race Rules

Helmet must be on and done up before you touch your bike and you must rack your bike before undoing your helmet.
We have road closures but roads are still open to local traffic so please apply road rules.
Participants - upper body chest must be covered at all times during the cycle and run legs.
NO DRAFTING - officials will use stop/go penalties for drafting offenders.
Bike security sticker needs to match the race number on your arm in order to remove your bike.
Familiarise yourself with the course - information and maps at are at the Registration area.

Baggage Area

There will be a baggage tent in the transition this for your benefit, however no responsibility for loss or damage to bags left in this area is taken by the Race Organiser. DO NOT leave valuables in your bags.

Bike Racks

All bike racks will be numbered. Please note the number for your bike and find THAT spot on the bike racks. The space you are allocated matches THAT exact number. Remember that getting your bike into and out of the transition area will require the appropriate bike sticker. NO STICKER, NO BIKE! Rack alternately either side of the rack, preferably by the seat.

Presentations

Presentations will take place approximately 30mins after the last competitor crosses the finish line. Presentations will take place in the park located behind the transition area. Presentations include random draw prizes, so there are chances for everyone to win something!
PLEASE NOTE: Category winners: If you are not present for the presentation of your trophy, it will be held for ten days after the results have been lodged on the website. Trophies can be picked up from The Run Inn at 339 Wardell St, Enoggera 4051. Any trophies not picked up by this deadline will be then recycled for the next race.
