How to get there!

Take the North Coast Highway; at Caboolture take the Bribie Island off ramp. At the end of the Bribie Bridge turn left, the race site is about 800 meters on your left.

Parking

Parking is limited on race day. One car park area will be set aside near the Transition area for the event and parking is also available in the various side streets. There will also be one car park reserved for cars and trailers from the boating group. Please note that parking is NOT AVAILABLE at the Bribie Island Hotel Motel nor is it available in Bibimulya ST, Danbar Ave or Sylvan Beach Esplanade. If you park in these areas your car will be towed at your expense.

Toilets

Toilets are located for participant and general public use adjacent to the transition area. Additional port a loos will also be available for use. Toilets are also located near the swim start - 200m towards the bridge.

Triathlon Race Start Times

Transition area opens at 5.30am and will close at 6.45am as the first wave starts.
Short course 300/13/3 - first wave starts 6.30am SHARP
Long course 1000/30/8 - first wave starts 7.15am SHARP

Registration

Before entering the Registration Area please rack your bike in the rack near the registration area and line up in the queue according to your race (Long course, short course or team).

At the registration table you will be asked for your Surname first and then confirmed with your Christian name or your Team Name. The attendant will supply you with a sticker to attach to your bike. This sticker will allow you to take your bike into the transition area and more importantly to take your bike out of transition after the Triathlon has finished. NO STICKER, NO BIKE!

You will then receive your timing band which is to be placed on your left ankle with the long piece facing down. If you do not complete the triathlon please take your band to the timing tent which is at the finish line. When you finish please take your timing band off your leg and give to the attendant at the end of the chute. Ensure that your timing band is returned. If your timing band is not returned you will be charges a $50.00 fee.

Race Numbering

After collecting your bike sticker please proceed to the scribe to have your body number put on. Please tell the scribe whether you will wear bike pants or a t/shirt so they can number you appropriately. Please note: no body numbers = no admittance into the transition area. Your race numbers will be placed on the front side of both arms and the front of one leg. The category letter will be placed on the calf muscle. It is your responsibility to ensure the numbers written on your body are the same as your timing band and your bike sticker.

 

 

Course Description

Swim

All swim legs will be in the Pumice stone Passage in a straight line back to the transition area.

Cycle Leg

Will be run as laps through the streets of the local residential area.

Course as follows, Marine Parade left Sylvan Beach Esp., u/turn at Pacific Harbor entrance at round-a-bout, left into Boronia Dr, right into Verdoni St, right into Elkhorn Av, right into Currong Cress, left into Verdoni St, left into Bellara St, left into Sylvan Beach Esp., u/turn at Marbrin Pl, left into marine Parade on the last of each race (2 laps for JUSTRIT 3 laps for PENNY CROFT.

Run Leg

Left out transition on to bike path out for 1.5km (JUSTRIT) 2.5km for PENNY CROFT and return to transition and the finish.

Race Rules

Helmet must be on and done up before you touch your bike and you must rack your bike before undoing your helmet.
Roads are open to local traffic please apply road rules.
Males - upper body chest must be covered at all times during the cycle and run legs.
NO DRAFTING - officials will use stop/go penalties for drafting offenders.
Bike security sticker needs to match the race number on your arm in order to remove your bike.
Familiarise yourself with the course - information and maps at are at the Registration area.

Baggage Area

There will be a baggage tent in the transition this for your benefit, however no responsibility for loss or damage to bags left in this area is taken by the Race Organiser. DO NOT leave valuables in your bags.

Bike Racks

All bike racks will be numbered. Please note the number for your bike and remember that getting your bike into and out of the transition area will require the appropriate bike sticker. NO STICKER, NO BIKE!

Presentations

Presentations will take place 30mins after the last competitor crosses the finish line. Presentations will take place in the park located behind the transition area.

PLEASE NOTE: Category winners: if you are not present for the presentation of your trophy, it will be held for ten days after the results have been mailed to those requesting copies. Trophy's can be picked up from The Run Inn at 339 Wardell St, Enoggera 4051. Any trophies not picked up by this deadline will be then recycled for the next race.
